The exhibition “A Breath in the Mediterranean – Here Life Begins” at the House of the Environment

The wildlife photographer from Nice, Greg Lecoeur, once again unveils the wonders of the Mediterranean at the Maison de lโ€™Environnement until September 12.

The shots from this internationally renowned photographer draw attention to the urgent need to protect the Mediterranean, which hosts 10% of the world’s marine biodiversity. Despite covering less than 1% of the world’s ocean surface, the Mediterranean, known as the โ€œGrande Bleue,โ€ is a vast home to a wide variety of species and is a critical link in maintaining the balance of our ecosystem.

Concerned about the future of the marine world, Greg Lecoeur dedicates his life to capturing precious moments and encounters with marine life, aiming to demonstrate the immense power and fragility of the sea and its inhabitants through breathtaking photos.

The 54 exhibited photographs will take both young and old on a journey through a vast, fragile, and often unknown universe, and children can also participate in a quiz at the reception desk, with a surprise awaiting them!

Greg Lecoeur is a professional underwater photographer and the author of numerous publications on diving in France and abroad. This passionate Nice native explores the oceans in search of unique images of marine life. In 2016, his work was recognized worldwide by the National Geographic Society, which named him Nature Photographer of the Year.

A few months ago, one of his photos, taken off the coast of the Baie des Anges featuring journalist Hugo Clรฉment and depicting a ray trapped in a lost net and plastic debris, went viral on social media.
