Until last year and even today, she expressed herself through writing and photography, particularly through newspaper articles published, among others, in La Lettre du Paillon, a weekly local information bulletin.

Then, “By taking up the pencil and the brush, I gravitated towards a means of expression that I wanted to be colorful and refined, approaching minimalism. Saying with little my often cheerful feelings,” said the artist.

The very essence of the works for the painter who laid her views and hopes on her canvases, just for the pleasure of expressing herself freely.

The art of the essential… by Audrey Bollaro, who, starting today, is exhibiting at the Forum Jorge-François.

Nice-Premium: When did you start drawing?

I have been drawing since I was a child without having taken any drawing classes. My skill for this art is a legacy from my godmother, which I believe I have also passed on to my niece, Héloïse, who is 7 years old. For a long time, I set aside my pencil, then in March 2016, during a hike in Roquebrune – Cap-Martin with my friends, we visited a gallery of abstract art. A friend had immediately liked one of the works. Upon returning home, I stopped at Auchan to buy supplies to create an artistic representation of her. And from that point on, I haven’t stopped painting, blending the abstract and realism but always with minimalism. I have a particular fondness for the graphics of arts like dance or music.

N-P: Where have you exhibited before?

My first exhibition took place in Blausasc, thanks to Nadège Massé, a municipal councilor. Subsequently, I presented a series on the theme of the July 14, 2016 attack in Nice, at the Théâtre National de Nice during the “Nice & Love” event in October 2016.

What are your projects?

I am working on a new project that I will propose to my village in Contes on the theme “Keep your child’s heart” in 2018. I will also have the honor of being published in the pocket gallery Vent’Art, which brings together artists from the Côte d’Azur.
