This summer, the village of Tourette Levens, a true open-air museum, presents the second part of the exhibition of works by TOULOUSE LAUTREC: Cabaret Scenes, featuring original lithographs by Toulouse-Lautrec (1864-1901) and also by Henri Gabriel Ibels (1867-1936), nicknamed the “Journalist Nabi.” This series, which the two artistsโwitnesses and participants of the Montmartre bohemian sceneโpublished together in 1893, had never before been exhibited in the region.
This series, complemented by numerous newspaper covers and programs, comes from the private collection of the Albigeois collector Jean-Pierre Gimbergues. Other original pieces from this era belonging to Alain Frรจre’s collection will enhance this exhibition.
The summer exhibition will be complemented by free children’s shows every Sunday within the exhibition.
