The exhibitions “Nice 2017. The School(s) of Nice”: 70 years already!

Latest News

After the events “Nice 2013, a summer for mtisse” and “Nice 2015. Promenade(s) des Anglais, a new summer event,” “Nice 2017. School(s) of Nice” is proposed from June 23 to October 15.

It will bring together four exhibitions in four emblematic art venues in the azure capital: the Mamac, the Musée Masséna, the Galerie des Ponchettes, and the 109.

These exhibitions will utilize all the collections of the city’s museums, with numerous national and international loans.

They will celebrate the 70th anniversary of the School of Nice, an artistic movement that traces its origins to Yves Klein, Arman, and Marial Raysse starting from 1947 and which subsequently developed in the ’50s, gathering many artists who became international.

Jean-Jacques Aillagon, former Minister of Culture and president of the Promenade des Anglais candidacy for UNESCO World Heritage, is the general curator of the exhibitions.
