The 16th edition of the International Festival of Nature and Adventure Image “EXPLORIMAGES” will be held at Phoenix Park from November 10 to 13, 2011. This international festival of nature images, adventures, and explorations offers four days of screenings, photographic exhibitions, meetings with adventurers, conferences/debates…
A must-attend event on the Cรดte d’Azur for lovers of beautiful images and vast wilderness, you can also find photographers from the PHOTON collective who will exhibit in the Emerald room.
In total, nearly 30 films in competition are divided into three main themes: sporting adventure, discovery and scientific exploration trips, nature, and the environment.
Some highlights:
*Thursday, 10/11:* Patrick Franceschi, a famous adventurer and captain of the three-masted schooner, will talk about his past adventures around the world and those awaiting him in the Mediterranean starting in 2012.
*Friday, 11/11:* Stรฉphanie Bodet and Arnaud Petit, a famous climbing couple. Tireless globe-trotters, they will recount their latest exploits and share their passion for climbing with the audience.
With them, the “Mercantour National Park and Mountain Wilderness” will talk about mountain protection and especially “gentle mobility.”
*Saturday, 12/11:* Two not-to-miss events!
Cรฉline Moulys will introduce you to the astonishing life of an extraordinary couple: Danielle, a doctor, and Olivier Fรถllmi, a famous humanist photographer.
Mike Magidson will present the moving “Voyage of Inuk,” the result of a tremendous human adventure with the Greenland Inuits. Then follows a breathtaking film with unprecedented subglacial images reported by a French expedition that dived under the Arctic ice cap.
*Sunday, 13/11:* Damien Arterro and Delphine Million will relive the best and worst memories of their tandem journey around the globe.
Numerous exhibitions:
For photography enthusiasts: a 600-square-meter exhibition hall. Several Cรดte d’Azur photographers, including some members of the Nice PHOTON collective, will present a selection of their best shots.
