In light of the statements from the two duelists, it seems that this umpteenth squabble, the latest until the next one, can be archived; everyone agrees: there will be no shopping center on the current location of the MIN. Once the obstacles are removed, it can move to the Baronne site.
The Board of Directors of the EPA of the Plaine du Var unanimously resolved yesterday afternoon:
(i) that there is no question of a shopping center on the land freed up by the MIN,
(ii) the priority is the construction of the exhibition center,
(iii) to subscribe to the objective (in agreement with Mr. Prefect) of creating a commercial offer comprising a 10,000 m2 volume of new spaces dedicated to congress attendees and local needs.
The manipulative nature of the blockade of the operational process by the Department can be seen in the statement of the new President of this collective, Charles-Ange Ginesy, behind whom looms the figure of the former president Eric Ciotti, who, as president of the finance commission of the department, has not lost his grip on the filesโin fact, quite the opposite.
โThe Department welcomes the clarification obtained with the commitment made by all parties not to build a shopping center on the site of the Exhibition Park,โ before reiterating: โthe Department will undertake all measures within its responsibility to enable the best conditions for the relocation of the MIN.โ
One wonders why they blocked them for nearly two years.
It should be for the general interest, the magical phrase of French politics.
