The Patronal Festival of Saint-Isidore, known as the “Marauders’ Festival,” will take place on Sunday, August 5, 2012, as follows:

10:45 AM โ€“ Mass in honor of the Feast of Saint-Isidore with the parish choir followed by a wreath-laying at the War Memorial โ€“ Saint Isidore Church / Place Saint-Isidore

Noon โ€“ Honorary aperitif offered by the Nice Saint-Isidore Festival Committee โ€“ Marquee

The residents will pay tribute to their saint “Isidore,” the Spanish saint, patron of farmers, who lived at the beginning of the 12th century. Of rural origin, he fled Madrid before the Almoravids and was distinguished by his pious and charitable spirit. Patron saint of Madrid, he is depicted dressed as a peasant, with a spade in hand.

The celebrations around Saint-Isidore will take place from Friday to Monday, August 6, 2012, inclusive, at Place Chanoine Musso.

They are organized by the Saint-Isidore festival committee with the participation of the City of Nice. Numerous activities will be offered to the public: serenades, boules and belote competitions, street soccer tournament, grand ball, feast, raffle, games and activities for children, as well as an evening show on Sunday, August 5 at 8 PM where you can see and listen to “Aรฏoli” in concert with Yves Pujol (opening act: Xavier Borriglione in “Que braia mi meti?”).
