This festival, a symbol of the summer solstice, was traditionally organized around a fire to encourage marriages.
Legend has it that young girls would rush to the Saint-Jean fires because it was said that if they danced around nine bonfires, their marriages would be celebrated within the year.
Starting at 6 PM, there will be a series of performances in the neighborhood with the Nice la Belle Folkloric group, a show by the schools in the Nice-Ouest area, performances by Les Petites Ouvreuses, speeches and Niçois songs with Nice la Belle, the Pailhassou launch, the Baletti by the group Lu Barbalùcou, and finally the lighting of the Saint Jean bonfire.
