The first Niçoise festival of spring, the Festin des Cougourdons, took place this Sunday in the Olive Grove of the Cimiez Arena Gardens. Every year, this festive gathering, enlivened by the dances and songs of the County of Nice, attracts nearly 3,000 people.
On this occasion, Christian Estrosi accompanied by the Committee of Niçoise Traditions laid a wreath at the War Memorial, Place Jean Paul II, and then shared an honorary drink in the Olive Grove of the Cimiez Arena Gardens.
Throughout the day, activities, dances, and music from the County of Nice, along with stands of cougourdons and local products, created a festival-like and friendly atmosphere for the enjoyment of the participants.
Many artisans and folk groups took part in this traditional festival: Nice la Belle, la Ciamada Nissarda, la Polido de Gémenos, and the music of the firefighters of the City of Nice.
