Meet on Saturday, February 5th at Forum Massena in Nice starting from 2:00 PM.

This year again, the Federation of Master Bakers and Pastry Bakers of the Alpes-Maritimes is actively participating in the “Pièces Jaunes” operation organized by the Foundation Hospitals of Paris-Hospitals of France, and is committed to supporting it, just like the National Confederation, for the cause of children.

Claude Batel, President, has called for solidarity among the 430 bakers in the department so that they set up collection boxes in their stores and invite their customers to participate generously.

On Saturday, February 5th, the Bakers’ Federation will set up a bakery at Forum Massena and create an event with about ten volunteer bakers who will make traditional breads, pastries, and “galettes des rois,” all available to the public in exchange for a contribution in small change… all to collect as many coins as possible for children and teenagers in hospitals, for the weigh-in at 5:30 PM.

“It is tradition for our professional Federation to support charitable operations for the benefit of children, and to mobilize especially for hospitalized children.
Three years ago, it was the bakers of Nice who raised the most money for the Pièces Jaunes operation. We wish to repeat this achievement this year and hope that many bakers will come to drop off their collection boxes for the weigh-in on the scale on Saturday, February 5, 2011,” says Claude Batel, President of the Alpes-Maritimes Federation.
