This Saturday at 6 PM, at the Jardins du Mercantour in Valberg, Astrid Veillon will read short stories from “Paths Under the Snow” and “Men, Woods, Bees” (La Fosse aux ours) by Mario Rigoni Stern.
At the age of 20, Astrid Veillon dreamed of becoming an actress. She then left Aix-en-Provence to settle in Paris and began acting in television series before moving on, in the late 1990s, to crime dramas such as “Les Cordier, juge et flic” and “Le Commissaire Moulin.” In 2000, she landed the lead role in the series “Quai N°1” until 2005. At the same time, Astrid Veillon ventured into theater, working alongside renowned actors like Alain Delon in “Les montagnes russes,” and even wrote her own play “La salle de bains” in 2003. In 2007, she published her first novel “Pourras-tu me pardonner?” with Plon publishers. Three years later, she discussed her experience of motherhood in a second book titled “Nine months in a woman’s life” (Calmann-Lévy). Since 2016, she has appeared on France 3 in the crime series “Tandem” by Jérémie Marcus, which has been hugely successful. She plays the lead role, that of a gendarmerie commander forced to work alongside her ex-husband.
