Every year, the Fête des Mai celebrates local traditions and Nice folklore associations.
Due to the health crisis, the City of Nice is offering a “Virtual May Walk” with original content to be discovered from May 1st on fetedesmai.nice.fr: the drawing “La Farandole” created by the association “Les Niçois d’Adèle”, the history of the Fête des Mai, old photos, Nice recipes, puppet making, coloring pages, puzzles, culinary quizzes, quizzes about the Fête des Mai…
In order to reaffirm support for the actors of Nice tradition and live performance, the City of Nice proposes the broadcast of folkloric concerts recorded for the occasion with the help of the association Lou Cat.

In addition to this rich online content, the people of Nice can discover, during a walk in the garden of the Arènes de Cimiez*, the exhibit of the bust of the 2020 Carnival Queen “La Niçoise” (from May 1st to 30th) and traditional costumes generously lent by La Ciamada Nissarda (every Sunday in May from 9 am to 6 pm, weather permitting).
