As part of the departmental vaccination campaign against the Coronavirus, Charles Ange Ginésy, president of the Alpes-Maritimes department, attended the first vaccinations of those over 75 carried out by one of the mobile teams from the Alpes-Maritimes department in the Valbergane Hall in Valberg.
This is a new step that is part of the departmental vaccination strategy, presented by the president of the Alpes-Maritimes, Charles Ange Ginésy, last Thursday, and which will be maintained for several months across the entire affected area.
One More Step in the Vaccination Campaign
To facilitate the support of this vaccination, the Alpes-Maritimes department is deploying mobile teams in the mid and high country. These mobile units will operate for half days or entire days in Valberg, Guillaumes, Villars-sur-Var, Coursegoules, Saint-Auban, and Peille.
In total, eight fixed departmental centers are open in the Alpes-Maritimes region:
–Puget-Théniers
– Roquesteron
– Saint-Vallier-de-Thiey
– Vence
– Contes
– L’Escarène
– Sospel
– Breil-sur-Roya
Through its vaccination centers and mobile teams, the department will cover 83 municipalities out of the 163 in the Alpes-Maritimes.
In parallel, the Alpes-Maritimes department is mobilized alongside the CASA, CARF, CAPG, CAPL, and CCAA. The Departmental Council is also joining forces with the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis. The local authority’s mobile teams are providing support across all the metropolitan territory’s vaccination centers.
Priority for Alpes-Maritimes According to Ginésy
For the president of department 06, accessible vaccination for those over 75 is a significant achievement. “Today, I am in Valberg, which hosts a department branch dedicated to vaccination. Thus, a mobile team is present for half a day and was able to vaccinate people over 75 years old. These vaccination branches are essential to reach populations in remote municipalities.”
However, Charles Ange Ginésy is asking the French government to ensure timely delivery of vaccine doses. The only solution to combat the pandemic that greatly affects the department as well as the entire country. “I have addressed a letter regarding this to the Prefect of the Alpes-Maritimes, and I will also send a letter to the Prime Minister and the Minister of Health to inform them of the urgency of the situation. With an incidence rate of nearly 480, the Alpes-Maritimes department remains the most affected in France. A prioritization of the hardest-hit areas is needed. We need these requests to be considered.” affirms the president.
