The first trainset of the West-East tramway line has arrived at the Charles Ginésy maintenance center. Starting June 30, line 2 will connect CADAM to Magnan.
It is finally here. After months of work in the various neighborhoods of Nice, the trainset is finally making its debut.
Designed by the designer Ora-ïto, the trainset features ochre and red colors, intended to help the tramway blend into the city.
Inside the trainset, we find the same colors that adorn the exterior facades of the trainset. It is wider at the connection areas between the cars, allowing it to accommodate 10% more people compared to the trainsets of line 1.
A Bright and Modern Tramway
40% of the tramway’s total surface is glassed. This allows the interior to be illuminated with LEDs, reducing energy consumption by 30%. It should be noted that the trainsets will be recharged during stops at each station. There will be no overhead lines.
8 extra-large screens will guide travelers inside the vehicle. This tramway will also have the most cameras in the world. These will be directly connected via WiFi, not only to security services but also to the maintenance center.
