Latest News

For over 30 years, the Théâtre Francis-Gag has hosted the creations of theater and performing arts artists, offering a selection of live performances from various disciplines aimed at all audiences.

Theater for classical and contemporary texts

“Les Murs ont des oreilles,” the new opus from La Troupe du Rhum, will present a bold selection of texts by Gildas Bourdet, Raymond Devos, Victor Hugo, and others. The Collectif Mains d’Oeuvre will revisit Shakespeare’s “King Lear,” in “A King Lear where we laugh!”, a whimsical and generous theater. There will also be “Mon Fric” by David Lescot, where the very promising actor Lucas Gimello will portray 43 characters in a breathtaking and humorous solo performance.

Creative residency at the Pôle Nice Théâtre et Arts

Each year, three projects develop and come to life in residence within the workspaces and on the main stage of the Théâtre Francis-Gag. In this first semester, discover the very current “Prof!” by Jean-Pierre Dopagne, performed by Eric Fardeaux, a bittersweet comedy about teaching and the national education system.

Spectator school and family shows

Performances for students and families hold a prominent place at the Théâtre Francis-Gag. For schoolchildren, the inimitable “Sorcière du placard aux balais” and “Petit Prince” will be showcased for the delight of young ones and the adults accompanying them, and for families, “Debout là-dedans” will offer a wacky clownish comedy that might remind you of your own camping experiences…

Concerts and musical shows

The Nice Jazz Orchestra, whether in quartet or big band formation, will pay tribute to Charlie Parker, Bill Evans, and Herbie Hancock. The recital dedicated to Paolo Conte should also not go unnoticed.

Le Petit audit’ and its mini-format shows

Experience the unique intimacy of performances in the theater’s very small auditorium (30 seats).

Theatrical readings and musical shows revolving around Proust, Herman Melville, Boris Vian, as well as Evita and Pedro Almodóvar, discover the “small forms” that promise intense moments of emotion and sharing, up close with artists and the audience.

In rhythm with the major events of the season

The Festival Femmes en Scènes (from March 6 to 14), World Theater Day (March 27), Springtime for Kids (spring holidays), the Book Festival (May 29, 30, and 31), the 3rd edition of “Compagnies sur le Pont” (from June 8 to 14), to discover the shows from Nice-based companies bound for the Avignon OFF festival and the Commedia dell’arte Festival (June 28), all these events resonate at the Théâtre Francis-Gag.
