In a statement, the PCF 06 reminds us that “the slogan ‘Highways = extortion,’ which was one of the elements that crystallized the anger of the Yellow Vests, remains fully relevant.”
Nevertheless, as if nothing happened, on February 1st, Escota-Vinci tolls will increase by an average of 1.9%, after a 20% rise over 10 years!
That is why the communist group in the National Assembly has just reintroduced its bill—rejected by the right in 2014—for the nationalization of highway companies.
In the meantime, the PCF 06 federation is therefore calling on the people of Alpes-Maritimes to support the following demands:
– Free passage on the toll sections between Mandelieu/Cannes and Menton
– Employee rate for those who use the highway for work
