Raising awareness of the artistic and cultural richness of the French Riviera is the primary goal of this open-air exhibition. Renoir, Monet, Matisse, Chagall, Derain, Dufy, Picasso, and many others frequented the Azurean territory and left an indelible mark. In total, 90 lecterns have been or will soon be positioned in Antibes, Menton, Mougins, and 12 other cities in the department including Nice. The lecterns are enamel lava plates placed in a metal structure. Each painting depicts landscapes painted from life by the Great Masters, such as seascapes, city views, squares, as well as gardens of the French Riviera.
The aim is to introduce tourists to the main places frequented by artists who lived and practiced their passion on the French Riviera. Through artworks accessible to all, visitors will be able to discover and rediscover places and paintings. Other objectives include providing amateur painters with a space for expression and showcasing the most beautiful landscapes of the Alpes-Maritimes, including those of Nice.
