The 10th edition of the French Riviera Jump Festival has just begun this Tuesday, March 26th, and will run until April 7th. For the 5th consecutive year, this show jumping competition is organized at the Cรดte d’Azur racetrack in Cagnes-Sur-Mer.

Over 13 days, the world’s best riders will compete in 90 equestrian sporting events. Thirty nations are represented and 800 horses are present on the site. It focuses exclusively on show jumping, but each course is different, orchestrated by the Course Designer.

The track is made up of 600 tons of sand. Before each event, riders practice to learn their course. They are judged on various criteria such as time or jump height and will receive penalty points for exceeding the time limit or causing a pole to fall.

The 5 stables of the racetrack host nearly 800 horses for 500 riders. Upon arrival, each horse must undergo a health and fitness examination. Four veterinarians are responsible for these tasks. For the rest of the year, the racetrack has 150 residents.
