The triathlete has a date with one of the world’s craziest events, the Ironman of Nice, on June 29th. She is entering the race with confidence after her victory at the 70.3 Pays dโAix.
Jeanne Collonge the day after her victory at the 70.3 Pays dโAix on May 18th: โIt’s a great satisfaction for me, after my health issues at the beginning of the year and then my bad luck in St Croix fifteen days ago, where I lost a lot of time due to a flat tire. To sum it up briefly, I swam rather well since I came out 1โ45โ behind the lead in the womenโs field. In terms of cycling, after a bit of a slow start, the race went quite well and I placed the bike in 3rd position. But when I started running, I was still 4โ30โ behind the leader, Tine Deckers, who had already won the Iron Man of Nice twice. I didnโt think I could catch up with her. Yet, as the laps went by, I regained time. I moved into 2nd place by the end of the first lap (out of 4). Gradually, I chipped away at Tineโs lead to finally overtake her 4km from the finish. This race meant a lot to me. I am happy to have successfully completed this goal. Once again, thank you for your help, which allows me to reach my dreams!โ
A bet: two months of housecleaning if Jeanne beats her boyfriend at the Iron Man of Nice! Debriefing of the victorious triathlons in Aix en Provence by Jeanne Collonge and in Lanzarote by her boyfriend, Romain Guillaume, both coached by Yves Cordier. And a bet they have made for the Iron Man of Nice on June 29th.
