The association “Les Amis de Lacassagne” is organizing, with the gracious support of the vocal ensemble Le Corou de Berra, on Saturday, October 26 at 8:00 PM at the Photography and Image Theatre, a charity concert featuring an eclectic program that includes a selection of works from the repertoires of mostly anonymous composers, which Michel BIANCO, the initiator and guide of the group since its inception, has discovered and reworked.
While prospecting the hinterland for over ten years in search of ancient manuscripts, Michel BIANCO acknowledged that while he could easily hum a few refrains, the same was not true for the verses.
Surrounded by a few companions, they set out to preserve this heritage and soon crossed a new threshold by founding Le Corou de Berra. In less than three decades, the group, established on an eagle’s nest just steps away from the Baie des Anges, has conquered every step of fame, one by one.
Driven by a single ambition: to sing about the Villages and our Valleys, Le Corou de Berra posits itself as an ambassador of our Culture, well beyond our land.
Today, its reputation has spread across Europe and gained many countries worldwide. Firmly planted in its global attire, Le Corou de Berra elevates the polyphonic singing of the Southern Alps, which it considers a unique cultural heritage—proud, present, and authentic.
As is the tradition with living music, interpreted with all the fervor required by singers who share a love for music and country, the repertoire of Le Corou de Berra is in continuous evolution with the intent not to reproduce the past but to bring it to life, to identify it, to codify it, to label it, in order to build an impressionistic, lively, and inevitably creative musical universe; the key to open all doors, wherever they may be and whatever landscape they reveal.
