“Help yourself, and heaven will help you,” said La Fontaine…
Jean Paul David, Mayor of Guillaumes, has just been informed of the amount the town will receive from the Heritage Lottery, managed by the Heritage Foundation: 64,000 euros!
But that’s not all! A bonus of 1 euro for every euro raised through the subscription campaign launched by the Heritage Foundation to safeguard the castle is granted, up to 10% of the project’s funding needs, which amounts to 17,000 euros!
The subscription has already raised over 16,000 euros to date, so that’s at least an additional 33,000 euros to finance the work!
In total, 97,000 euros have already been secured as of today, which accounts for 20% of the first phase of the work.
And the subscription continues until the end of the work!
This is a wonderful illustration of the generosity of individuals and businesses in highlighting heritage; and of the state’s desire to encourage generosity through tax incentives.
With the funding from the Department of Alpes Maritimes and the SUD-PACA Region, the Mayor of Guillaumes is thus assured of being able to support a remarkable project for enhancing our heritage.
