A political figure from the Côte d’Azur, Jean-Claude Guibal will be buried today in Menton.
The illustrious mayor of Menton and president of the Communauté d’agglomération de la Riviera française, Jean-Claude Guibal, passed away on Monday from cardiac arrest at the age of 80.
Since the announcement of his death, tributes have been pouring in from all sides, and a chapel of rest was set up on Thursday in front of the town hall.
Today, a final tribute will be paid to the man who had led “the pearl of France” since 1989, during his funeral at 3 PM, at the Basilica of Saint Michael the Archangel in Menton.
Gérald Darmanin, the Minister of the Interior, will attend the ceremony before heading to Nice to participate in the tribute to the victims of the Notre-Dame de Nice attack that occurred a year ago.
