For his first solo exhibition: “Turn the water into wine”, Jérôme Robbe shows us a range of his production, from paintings on mirrors to compressed paintings, spanning from pure abstraction to bouquets of flowers on glass, from his latest works to his very first three-dimensional artworks. Jérôme Robbe’s work draws its essence from a reflection on the practice of great painters such as Sigmar Polke, Helmut Dorner, or Francis Picabia. For this pictorial journey through history, Jérôme Robbe constructs, compresses, transforms, varnishes, deconstructs, or layers against a backdrop of American country, blues, and manouche guitar.
A work with German rigor, enhanced with a touch of rock’n’roll straight from the pleasure of diverting the codes of sight and perceptions! The tondo at the facade will be created by Stéphane Steiner, an artist newly represented at the gallery.
The Galerie Espace A Vendre inaugurates a partnership in the port area with the new design boutique Halogène, which hosts part of Jérôme Robbe’s large-format works. To conclude this first event of the gallery in its new format with music and in collaboration with the association Kulth, an acoustic jazz manouche concert followed by a DJ set will be played facing the sea at Sun Sea Black.
