The Urban Planning and Architecture Forum of the City of Nice is hosting the “Building Games” workshop, in collaboration with the Academic Inspectorate, for schoolchildren from Nice until Thursday, October 20, 2011. This traveling workshop, designed by the City of Architecture & Heritage, invites young and old to play with its collection of over 5000 pieces, consisting of Anker stones, Lego bricks, Meccano plates, K’nex rods, and Kapla planks.
*Discover architecture while having fun!*
For young audiences, building games are an excellent introduction to understanding architecture. Thus, 26 classes, from CM1 to 6th grade, will learn about concepts of volume, shapes, and colors. Guided by a mediator, the children will be able to reproduce buildings from Nice to compare them with other models like an Inca pyramid or a Greek temple!
The Urban Planning and Architecture Forum of the City of Nice places great importance on raising awareness among young Niçois to architectural culture, so that as adults, they can actively participate in the life of the City and voice their opinions on major projects in their city as informed citizens.
