The 6th edition of the Saint Jazz Cap Ferrat will take place from August 9 to 12 in the idyllic setting of the Garden of Peace, at the tip of the peninsula. The jazz festival is focusing even more on the quality of the welcome for the public and artists with a lineup that will make other festivals green with envy.
The first season of the Saint Jazz Club, a winter jazz program desired by Mayor Jean-François Dieterich and artistically managed by Marc Peillon, was a great success (October 2016 – May 2017). It demonstrated that with the enthusiasm over the past five years for the summer festival, the Saint Jazz Cap Ferrat, the city has become an essential site for jazz on the Côte d’Azur.
The 6th edition – which will take place from August 9 to 12 in the Garden of Peace – will place even more emphasis on the quality of the reception for the public (450 seats maximum, but reservations are strongly recommended) and also for the artists.
In terms of discoveries or lesser-known artists, don’t miss the charismatic and sublime English-speaking crooner Ola Onabulé (9/08), whom the Saint Jazz Cap Ferrat was the first festival in France to sign for a concert! He will be part of the team with the legend Wynton Marsalis for the tour in the USA and Asia! Two years ago, he was almost unknown…
Buckle up on 11/08 for an evening that will take you on a journey between jazz and traditional Chinese music with Yannick Rieu in the first part, followed by Maria Wang & Xia Jia Trio, for their debut concert in France.
Be aware that it is Pierre de Bethmann in trio who will open this edition, and Jean-Jacques Milteau who will close it. In the meantime, you will have had the great pleasure of listening to and seeing Janysett McPherson, who will play in the opening of the trio Didier Lockwood, André Ceccarelli, and Thierry Eliez. Not to mention Inwardness, behind which the always surprising David Amar in trio can be found.
