The Gender Weeks 2013, 3rd Edition: Building Equality Together

Latest News

The Gender Weeks are organized by Alter Egaux, the CIDFF (Information Center for Women’s and Family Rights), and the University of Nice, in partnership with the Ministry of Women’s Rights, the PACA Region, the city of Cannes, and the CAPAP (Communautรฉ dโ€™Agglomรฉrations du Pรดle Azur Provence).

This innovative project is unique in France for the inter-partnership and continuous dimension it offers. Established in 2011, the Gender Week brought together more than 200 people and nearly 500 in 2012.

The 2013 edition takes on a departmental dimension and offers events throughout the month of November.

During round tables, conferences, testimonials, debates, thematic workshops, and change support, these events aim to provide field actors with a better understanding of the social, cultural, and political uses and issues of gender and to promote the emergence of new organizational models.

The challenges of equality are not limited to education.

The transformations of the family, the evolution of women’s roles in our societies, the role of the mother, and that of the father have a considerable impact on family cohesion and dynamics. How can families be supported to invent egalitarian practices between girls and boys, men and women, mothers and fathers?

The evolution of family patterns, the fragmentation of career paths, and treatment inequalities have a considerable impact on the economy. How can working conditions be improved, the pressure on life time reduced, the costs of health deterioration at work reduced, and trust restored?

New models of management and organization need to be invented, the equality meetings present good practices and emerging tools that promote effective equality and anchor companies in a modernity approach to make them pleasant places to work.
