The General Council continues to develop educational actions in colleges as part of its cross-border cooperation policy.
Eric Ciotti, Deputy, President of the General Council of Alpes-Maritimes, will sign the agreement regarding the promotion of the Italian language and culture in Alpes-Maritimes, with the Consulate General of Italy, represented by Mr. Luciano Barillaro, Consul General of Italy in Nice, the Academic Directorate of National Education Services, represented by Mr. Philippe Jourdan, Academic Director of National Education Services and the Committee for Linguistic and Italian Activities (CO.A.L.C.It.), represented by Ms. Marianna Giuliante, President of Coalcit.
Promoting the Learning of Italian
The General Council of Alpes-Maritimes supports, based on an agreement signed with the Academic Directorate of National Education Services, the Consulate General of Italy, and CO.A.L.C.It., the learning of Italian in the schools and colleges of Alpes-Maritimes.
At the request of the Academic Directorate, CO.A.L.C.It. intervenes in educational institutions by setting up Italian classes, continuous training sessions for teachers, and educational projects. Actors and resources are committed to developing young people’s interest in Italy.
The General Council wished to provide its support to CO.A.L.C.It., which plays a crucial role in the department by supporting the teaching of the Italian language, and aims to encourage and strengthen the relations that unite Alpes-Maritimes with the Italian territory.
Primary schools and colleges are selected by the Academic Directorate to ensure the continuity of Italian teaching between primary school and college.
The courses are conducted by six teachers hired and trained by CO.A.L.C.It., which also handles administrative management and organizes, in agreement and collaboration with the Consulate General of Italy, cultural initiatives aimed at promoting young people’s knowledge and interest in the Italian language and culture.
