Richard Galliano’s charity concert at the Nice Opera resulted in a check of 10,000 euros being handed over by Michรจle Boucaran, on behalf of the Friends of Lacassagne, to Professor Joรซl Guigay, director of the scientific institution.
This concert by Richard GALLIANO, accompanied by his colleagues, Saskia LETHIEC (violin), Bertrand CERVERA (violin), Jean-Paul MINALI-BELLA (viola), Eric LEVIONNOIS (cello), and Sylvain le PROVOST (double bass), electrified the audience for over two hours.
This amount will contribute to the budget aimed at acquiring a portable monitoring device intended for children affected by cancer, who will be treated at the Mediterranean Institute of Proton Therapy created on the Cyclotron site. With this new state-of-the-art high-energy Proton Therapy Service, the Antoine Lacassagne Center is the second institution in France to have such a comprehensive and innovative technical platform.
This high technology will allow for the treatment of children’s tumors starting at the end of the first semester of 2016.
This new type of patient requires specific medical equipment and furnishings, and it also creates the need to equip indoor and outdoor play areas: a new challenge for the Friends of LACASSAGNE Association.
