Latest News

The NICE WRESTLING CLUB is organizing the 35th Henri DEGLANE International Challenge from November 26-29, 2009, at the Leyrit hall in NICE.

While the Russians shone at the recent World Championships in Herning, Denmark at the end of September, the Americans somewhat missed the mark.

On one hand, TURKEY, IRAN, AZERBAIJAN, and of course RUSSIA are the countries that won the majority of titles in Freestyle Wrestling and Greco-Roman Wrestling, and on the other hand, among the women, RUSSIA, CANADA, and JAPAN were crowned World Champions.

With the exception of Japan (which has not confirmed its attendance), all these champions titled in September will be in LEYRIT next month.

Furthermore, an African selection will also be present in Nice, which is a first and marks the emergence of this Great continent in this noble sport. This promises spectacle, atmosphere, and beautiful sporting but friendly confrontations considering the current global tensions between all these countries.

The national team of ITALY, SPAIN, BULGARIA, HUNGARY, KAZAKHSTAN, and GERMANY will also be present.

FRANCE will come with a large delegation and will try to compete. It has the means with its young talents.

On the Nice side, ZAOURT KHADIEV, currently a 1st-year Junior who recently participated in the EUROPEAN Championships, will defend the colors of NICE and FRANCE since he is integrated into the French team despite his young age. This will allow him to measure himself against the best and increase his sporting and mental capacities to aim for the top at the 2012 LONDON Olympics.
