Even if the official figures – provided by the Directorate of Public Finances – contradict these falsehoods.
Figures for the Accommodation and Food Service Sectors
In the metropolitan area, in March 2019, there was a significant increase of over 10.74% in accommodation and over 3.87% in the food service sector compared to March 2018.
During the first quarter of 2019, the accommodation and food service sectors (AFS) showed positive growth compared to the first quarter of 2018: +10.52% for accommodation and +3.45% for food services.
Business Figures
Enterprises within the metropolitan area achieved a performance of +6.23%.
Over a rolling 12-month period ending March 2019, the metropolitan area accounted for 45.55% of the departmental turnover of the High General Directorate of Enterprises (HGDE), or โฌ1,432.1 million out of โฌ3,143.7 million.
For the same period, the performance of the Metropolis was +5.32%.
The figures for the Department are +2.40% for the quarter and +4% over a rolling 12-month period.
For Christian Estrosi, mayor of Nice and president of the Metropolis, the satisfaction is twofold: “These data attest to the very good economic health of our territory, which continues to establish itself as an economic and tourist engine of the Region.”
Given the favorable comparison Nice/Metropolis > Department, Christian Estrosi’s satisfaction is… triple!
