The national EcoQuartier label, launched in 2012, aims to distinguish exemplary sustainable development practices and clarify the success conditions of EcoQuartiers.

meridia-3.jpg This label is built on an “EcoQuartiers Charter” consisting of 20 commitments grouped into four dimensions: process and approach, living environment and usage, territorial development and resource preservation, and adaptation to climate change.

The labeling process includes 3 stages corresponding to the different phases of the project, from design to delivery, including the construction phase.

The official announcement of the results by the National EcoQuartiers Labeling Commission, by the Minister of Housing, Territorial Equality, and Rural Affairs, rewards the action of the EPA (Public Establishment for Planning) and the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis. This distinction reinforces the relevance of the choices made in terms of the smart city implemented by the EPA.

“This national recognition reflects the commitment shared by the EPA and its partners (State, Region, Department, Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis, and the concerned municipalities) to develop and promote exemplary eco-developments, thus giving full meaning to the ambition of the Eco-Valley,” rejoices Christian Tordo, Chairman of the EPA’s Board of Directors.
