The urban community of the Pays de Grasse was established on January 1, 2014, from the merger of the municipal communities of Terres de Siagne and Monts d’Azur, as well as the urban community of the Pôle Azur Provence.

relais_grasse.jpg To symbolize this creation and engage everyone around this new territory, the urban community has conceived a unique and unifying event: the Grand Relay of the Pays de Grasse.

Indeed, sport conveys essential values of sharing, effort, and solidarity.

The goal of this race is to have fun while carrying the flag of the urban community of the Pays de Grasse, like a torch, from one church tower to another across the entire territory.

This event, which will take place on July 12 and 13, is not officially sanctioned, and there will be no ranking.

This race is open to people who are fairly athletic and usually run between 11 and 12 km/h. Given the total distance of the event (235 km), a strict schedule and minimum pace are required.

It is up to the runners to choose a relay suitable for their physical condition, with the option of completing one or more relays.

Start on Saturday, July 12 at 7:30 AM from the first relay at Place du Cours Honoré Cresp in Grasse, and arrival at the field of Saint-Vallier-de-Thiey around 10:00 PM.

Start on Sunday, July 13 at 6:45 AM and presumed arrival at 12:30 PM – Place du petit Puy in Grasse.
