For a week now, the city of Nice has been offering a program of shows, workshops, and activities throughout the city for children aged 2 and up. This Wednesday, April 27, 2011, starting at 11:00 AM at the Gardens of the Cimiez Arena, an educational and fun day will take place.
This year again, this festival, popular with the public since 2008, gathered more than 1000 spectators for 19 shows, around ten courses, workshops, or activities offered in 20 recreation and leisure centers, municipal or associative theaters including Théâtre de la Tour, the Blackbox, Scène 114, Theatre de La Semeuse, the Stephane Grappelli room of the CEDAC de Cimiez, the Théâtre de la Cité, or the Forum Nice Nord. 23 different companies thrilled the hearts of both young and adult spectators (actors!) of this festival.
The 2011 edition undertook:
Strengthening the offer in the outskirts with the addition of shows or workshops in the neighborhoods of La Vallière, La Madeleine, Saint-Pancrace, Vallon des Fleurs
Further developing content with a special focus on magic, allowing children to escape and marvel
The use of the “live art” tool to raise awareness among children and young people about sustainable development issues with a show on the Oliviers stage on April 27 at the Cimiez Arena
The creation of a “playful village” during the Great Children’s Festival.
On April 27, children and their parents are invited to the gardens of the Cimiez Arena to experience an educational and fun day with numerous workshops and shows in roaming acts or on the Oliviers stage:
Workshops exploring percussion, circus arts, scientific techniques, and traditional wooden games
Musician or stilt-walking artists roaming in the gardens and pathways of the park
Costumed characters, who will be more than happy to have their photo taken with the children!
Finally, two shows will be performed on the Oliviers stage:
11:00 AM: “Show on Selective Sorting”
Léonardo, a very eco-friendly little boy, has decided to conduct an investigation: have the people in his neighborhood understood all the small recycling gestures that are so important to him? The results are not bad at all! Léonardo feels very satisfied… until he receives a more than original letter from the mysterious and eccentric Blue Fairy, who informs him that the whole earth is in danger…
Show produced in collaboration with Nice Côte d’Azur.
For children aged 5 to 12 – Duration 45 minutes
