The Green Santa Claus’s sleigh is starting its journey in Nice.

Latest News

Tomorrow, at 8 o’clock, the Green Santa Claus Sleigh will leave the Promenade des Anglais in Nice for a solidarity mission across France and to Belgium. This event, organized by the Alpes-Maritimes Secours Populaire, marks the launch of the second edition of this initiative.

The departure from Nice coincides with the International Children’s Rights Day. On the Promenade des Anglais, the Green Santa Claus Sleigh will take off to cross thirteen departments before reaching Belgium. This project aims to collect new toys within the local federations of the Secours Populaire. These toys will be offered on December 4th to 130 children supported by the Belgian association CO.FA.MON, during a special show for Saint Nicholas Day.

The journey will take place in several stages, notably passing through Toulon, Grenoble, Dijon, and Strasbourg. At each stop, local volunteers will ensure the relay. Accompanied by children members of “Copains du Monde,” the sleigh is a true chain of solidarity in motion.

A journey of solidarity and international cooperation

Once in Belgium, the journey will continue to Italy, with a new distribution of toys for children supported by the association ARCI. The return will follow the same principle: crossing France to reach Nice again, always laden with gifts and hope.

The Secours Populaire reminds us that this initiative is part of its “Green Santa Claus” campaign, launched in 1976. The goal is to offer those in need a moment of festivity and sharing.

The rendezvous is given tomorrow morning in Nice to witness the sleigh’s departure. A strong symbol of solidarity and generosity as the holidays approach.

The 3A Hotels group mobilizes for the SPF

For the sixth year, the hotels of the 3A Hรดtels La Collection group (West End, Aston La Scala, and Beau Rivage) are organizing a toy collection for the benefit of the Alpes-Maritimes Secours Populaire. From November 30th to December 11th, 2024, the people of Nice are invited to drop off games, books, stuffed animals, and other entertainment items at one of the three hotels. The donations, collected on December 12th by Green Santa Claus volunteers, will be sold. The goal is to finance the purchase of new toys for underprivileged children. This initiative collects more than 1,500 toys each year.
