The group “Right Spirit Gospel Singers” sings for the benefit of medical research in ophthalmology, this Saturday, April 6, at 8:30 PM, at Grappelli/CEDAC Hall in Cimiez, 49 Avenue de la Marne in Nice.
The group “GOSPEL RIGHT SPIRIT Singers” consists of very talented amateur singers who are passionate about singing, particularly Gospel and Negro Spirituals. Quality, pleasure, and sharing are the key words that express their motivation! They forge intense bonds through rehearsals and performances, and with each song, they strengthen these connections among themselves and with the audience.
Their musical program is as diverse as the voices, with varied tones, that make up the ensemble. With four-part vocal instrumentalized titles composed by Sophie GELLER, author, composer, and performer, as well as their a cappella singing, this group of Afro-American inspiration reconnects with the traditional songs of African Americans in the Southern United States.
Many well-known titles, such as Kumbaya, Go Down Moses, Glory Glory, Amazing Grace, Oh When the Saints, and the famous Oh Happy Day… are performed and choreographed, turning this concert into a real show.
Sophie GELLER: a true stage singer, her voice is often compared to that of an African-American singer. She has been living in Nice for over 30 years, and her blues, jazz, and soul musical influences led her to discover Gospel within several local choirs, before founding and voluntarily leading her own group since 1998, where she practices and trains her singers in a particularly cheerful and dynamic Gospel while respecting the origins and fundamentals of this captivating music.
Quickly, she performed in numerous festivals, and the performances followed one another until her incredible stage presence allowed her to open for the night of Gospel, participate in master classes with major Afro-American groups, and sing at concerts alongside Jeane MANSON, NICOLETTA, Dany BRILLANT, LIZ Mc COMB, …
