The guidelines from the Prefect of Alpes-Maritimes to prevent the spread of the virus

Since August 27, the Alpes-Maritimes department has been classified as an active circulation zone of Covid-19, known as a “red zone.” The indicators (incidence rate, positivity rate, and number of clusters) continue to rise. There is a positivity rate of 7.8% in the department, whereas it is only 7.4 in the PACA region.*


In this context, in consultation with health authorities and elected officials, Bernard Gonzalez, prefect of Alpes-Maritimes, has confirmed the measures in place to contain the spread of the virus.

Schools:

So far, class closures mainly occur in kindergarten classes, due to the difficulty in tracing the actions of sick children.
Each day, there are more and more reports. About twenty are recorded. A “Covid unit” has been established within the academic inspection.
The situation is complicated, cases are increasing, but the situation is under control.

“Responsibility and solidarity”

It has been reiterated that gatherings of between 10 and 500 people are subject to declaration. For gatherings of over 500 people, a closer examination is required before authorizing the event, with the opinion of the ARS and the mayor of the concerned municipality.

Mandatory mask-wearing

It has been known since Thursday, September 10, that wearing a mask is mandatory in all 18 cities (mainly those along the coastal strip forming an urban conurbation) of the Alpes-Maritimes.

Bars, restaurants, but also snacks and grocery stores

The limitation of opening hours for bars and restaurants remains set at 11:00 PM in municipalities with fewer than 2,000 inhabitants and 1:00 AM in municipalities with more than 2,000 inhabitants.
This decision is currently scheduled until Thursday, October 15, 2020, inclusive.
An order will be issued to align snacks and grocery stores with these hours.
