OGC Nice hosts Amiens to kick off the season. A highly anticipated match for the supporters of Populaire Sud.
A few hours before the season’s kick-off, the Populaire Sud supporters’ association declared on their Facebook page that they โwill not put their passion aside.โ This promises a warm and exceptional welcome on Saturday evening. “Playing the first match at home is a very good thing. We must be present and try to win this match to mobilize the public behind us,” said coach Patrick Vieira during Thursday’s press conference.
With a disappointing preparation, the Eagles are determined to make up for it and start this home season on the right foot. Winning this first match would be a way to ignite the passion of the fans. “We finished last season well and we hope to start 2019-20 the same way, with a victory! What better way to bring joy and happiness from the first match to start a great year?โ Dante expressed in turn.
On the Amiens side, preparation seems mixed with 2 losses, 2 wins, and 1 draw. Note the arrival of a new coach: Luka Elsner, who trained at Gym as a player. Many new recruits followed, including Jonathan Bumbu (midfielder from LOSC), Ulrick Brad Eneme-Ella (forward from FC Liefering, Austrian second division), Haitam Aleesami (left-back from US Palermo, Italian second division), and the now former Eagle Christophe Jallet.
See you tomorrow at 8 p.m. at the Allianz Riviera Stadium. Enjoy the match!
