The troupe of the รclaireurs of the Thรฉรขtre National de Nice, led by Irina Brook, visited the OGC Nice Training Center to perform the play “DREAM!” by Shakespeare. A play that captivated the club’s U17 and U19 teams before introducing them to the art of theater.
This was the second meeting between the รclaireurs troupe of the TNN and OGC Nice. “Today is the 2nd time the TNN has held a performance within our walls, and we are delighted because we know this is done only exceptionally,” explained Virginie Rossetti, Director of Communication & Brand at OGC Nice.
On this Wednesday, the troupe reimagined “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” considered the most popular play in the Shakespearean repertoire. The performance unfolded in a playful and interactive atmosphere with a touch of burlesque, couples of lovers coming together and breaking apart, and a troupe of sometimes clumsy building artisans…
In total, around forty young players attended the play, which concluded with an introduction to acting. The young apprentices brought the lines of the English playwright back to life in a spirit of discovery and friendliness.
This initiative is driven by the Football Foundation as part of the “Open Football Club” program. It aims to encourage professional clubs to implement cultural and civic actions for young players in training. “The interest of such an operation is to contribute to the cultural and civic awakening of our young players, who, against all odds, play along and enjoy stepping out of their comfort zone,” declared the Director.
“For several years, we have been multiplying collaborations with the TNN through the association Passionnรฉment TNN. Regularly, our young players thus go to the Theater to discover this unique universe that nonetheless has numerous similarities with football,” concluded Virginie Rossetti.
