From the beginning of the health crisis, the City of Nice and the Opéra Nice Côte d’Azur have mobilized to strengthen the bonds that unite us and to break this moment of isolation through numerous actions: the artistic minute #Stay at home, opera excerpts played by the Philharmonic Orchestra in confinement, and major events at the Opera.
Starting Tuesday, June 30, the traditional noon cannon shot from the castle will kick off half an hour of music and singing on the forecourt of the Opera by the Nice Philharmonic Orchestra and the Opera Choir. During these thirty minutes, passersby will be able to enjoy excerpts from the classical repertoire as well as “best of” selections from jazz and popular music.
This summer, this midday artillery fire will no longer resonate merely as a sound signal to indicate lunchtime but also as an invitation to nourish the heart and mind with fine melodies and rhythms…
