The Harley du Coeur emptied their sacks filled with toys at the foot of the Christmas tree at the high-energy proton therapy center in Nice.
It is 4:30 PM when the engines of the legendary bikes of the big-hearted bikers roar into the high-energy proton therapy center on the heights of Nice, with an official ceremony for handing over the toys, school supplies, and childcare materials that the bikers collected and donated to the Antoine Lacassagne center, specifically to equip the reception house “la Consolata,” which can now accommodate children for cancer treatment protocols.
Mr. Professor Joël GUIGAY, General Director of the Antoine Lacassagne Center, speaks up to thank each of the people present, explaining the importance for the center of such involvement from the association members as well as from the partners supporting these actions throughout the year, prominently Les Toques Brûlées, the city of Nice, the Departmental Council 06, the PACA Region, and of course the Carrefour Center Nice Lingostière, the Pain Petifour house, the Malongo house, the Marriott Porte de Monaco Hotels, and AC Marriott Nice, as well as Via Location or Rent A Car, One Emballage, etc…
The broad smile and bright eyes of little Julia, 2 years old, watched over by her mom and dad, and her 7-year-old brother, present this afternoon, expressed all the joy and impatience of discovering the treasures that the Harley du Coeur were bringing them a bit ahead of Santa’s official calendar, who will only empty his sack under the trees in a few days!
The gifts barely opened, they play, burst out laughing, and forget the illness to only think about the pleasure of sharing unique moments together. “Together we are stronger, and for the children, we can never do enough!
The generosity of the public that shows up for each of our events proves it to us every time,” states Claude Abejan, president of the Harley du Coeur association he founded nearly 25 years ago.
An appointment is already set for 2017 with the Antoine Lacassagne Center to continue in this right vein and spoil the young patients present, those the big-hearted bikers affectionately call their “little protégés”!
