On Wednesday, November 27 and Thursday, November 28, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., the Health Information Bus of the Alpes-Maritimes General Council will be in Nice, in front of “lโ€™Escale,” as part of the actions planned ahead of World AIDS Day.

lutte_sida.jpg “lโ€™Escale” is a free reception and listening place aimed at young people aged 11 to 25, living, studying, or in training in Nice.

The health professionals from the General Council will welcome groups of young people, followed by the Local Mission, on the Health Information Bus to inform and raise awareness about Sexually Transmitted Infections and HIV.

These two days will also be an opportunity to remind that the General Council offers anonymous and free screening consultations in its four centers: Antibes, Le Cannet, Grasse, and Nice.

The Alpes-Maritimes remains the second most affected department by the AIDS epidemic in mainland France. Hepatitis is also significant. The anonymous and free Screening Centers (CDAG) respond to a real need. In 2012, 6,283 tests were conducted in the CDAG of the General Council, of which 26 were positive, as well as 375 Rapid Diagnostic Orientation Tests (TROD), none of which were positive.

From January 1 to October 31, 2013, out of 3,879 HIV tests and 792 TROD conducted, 23 turned out positive.
