Until March 16, 2018, the Archives Nice Cรดte dโAzur (at the Palais de Marbre) reveal the fascinating history of the automobile in Nice since the 19th century!
From horse-drawn carriages used by the first winter visitors to explore the capital of winter tourism, to the small city cars that now roam the city, and including luxury and sports cars, discover the birth and evolution of the automobile in Nice since the 19th century.
Previously unseen archive documents will be unveiled: beautiful automobile garages in Nice, gas stations, bodywork and repair workshops, Emil Jelinek, a guest in Nice at his villa Mercedes, as well as chauffeur-driven cars, taxis, and the first driving schools.
Around the exhibition, there will be a conference on Saturday, November 18 at 3 PM on the theme “Automobile Racing in Nice in the 19th and 20th Century” by Yvan Gastaut, a senior lecturer at the University of Nice Sophia-Antipolis.
