On Tuesday, September 12 at 5:30 PM at the Centre AnimaNice Bon Voyage, Jean-Marc Giaume and Françoise Monier will inaugurate the photographic exhibition by Félicien Tordo, which traces the history of the construction of the Notre-Dame de Bon Voyage chapel between 1958 and 1967. The exhibition will be held until September 30.
The first mention of Notre-Dame de Bon Voyage dates back to 1655, with the presence of a Notre-Dame de Bon Voyage chapel located along the Royal Route connecting Nice to Turin, the capital of the States of Savoy. This chapel dedicated to Our Lady of Good Voyage was erected for travelers and pilgrims who, as early as the 17th century, embarked on the six-day journey to Turin under conditions that could be perilous.
It gave its name to the neighborhood that was built around it.
