The Identitarians oppose Muslim places of worship.

It was almost a certainty: After the National Front (FN) had opened the “no” front following the press conference of the mayor of Nice, the Nice Rebela identity group could only strongly oppose the decisions adopted by the Nice municipality regarding the organization of Muslim places of worship, labeling this project as “scandalous.” Legal initiatives have even been announced.

mosquee_nice.jpg Our duty as an information body is to report the opinions of all parties involved. We do this by fully reporting the statement from Nissa Rebela.

However, we allow ourselves to ask how the presence of Muslim believers would oppose the deeply rooted popular Catholicism in the city of Nice.

Wouldn’t mutual understanding be a better way for everyone to live well and together?

Statement from Nissa Rebela – Christian Estrosi presents his support plan for the Islamization of Nice

The deputy mayor Benoît Kandel had announced it in June, but the very next day, Christian Estrosi contradicted him… In fact, he had just revealed the information too early.

Christian Estrosi announced the allocation by the city hall of a 500m² room intended to become a new large mosque (with 500 places) at the foot of the Roquebillière housing estate.

Beyond this symbolic announcement, it’s actually a comprehensive support plan for Islamization that has been presented by the mayor of Nice: with the extension of the mosques of Ariane, Moulins, rue de Suisse, and the search for a new site for Nice-north.

Ultimately, Christian Estrosi’s position aligns with that of the Salafist who demanded mosques in all neighborhoods in Nice Matin in July. It seems the municipality wishes to fulfill his request! Yet, in the city’s statement, we learn that there are already 17 mosques in Nice (the distinction between “prayer rooms” and “mosques” is artificial and completely obsolete in Islam), meaning 5,000 places.

By this decision, Christian Estrosi is blatantly breaking with the principle of secularism of institutions.

The Roquebillière premises belong to the Côte d’Azur Habitat public housing office, and nothing can legitimize their transformation in this way.

By this decision, Christian Estrosi also breaks with the identity of our city. City of resistance against the Ottomans with Ségurane; city of the commander of the Battle of Lepanto, Provana de Leyni; city with deeply rooted popular Catholicism.

We intend, of course, to spearhead the opposition to these scandalous projects.

Contacts are ongoing with our political partners as well as with representatives of neighborhood associations and committees. We will not accept this abandonment of the eastern neighborhoods of the city to Muslim communitarianism.

As with rue de Suisse (a procedure contesting the lease granted by the city hall to Muslims is still ongoing before the Administrative Court), we also intend to respond on the judicial front, and our lawyers are already studying the case.

We will not let them succeed!
