The Illegal Constructions of Ariane: An Absurd Story

Latest News

The recent “discovery” in the Ariane neighborhood of 855 square meters of illegal constructions, including housing, an industrial kitchen, and a clandestine slaughterhouse, can only surprise and leave one speechless! How could this have happened in a fully urbanized area without anyone noticing?

Aren’t there any local elected officials, neighborhood councils, social activity associations, or municipal police (a police station is 700 meters away from this location)?

It seems that the “slum landlords” (13 housing units have been inventoried), father and son, were already known for a similar offense in 2008… no follow-up or control since then?

According to testimonies, “everyone” knew… but, if thatโ€™s true, did no one react?

Philippe Vardon (regional councilor and Nice leader of the FN) often raises his voice, sometimes excessively, but this time he raises the right question: “How can one calmly build housing, an industrial kitchen, and operate a clandestine slaughterhouse for years? All of this seems an insane affair.”

Christian Estrosi’s reaction only touches on administrative and legal aspects. Perhaps thatโ€™s where it needs to start. But what is certain is that we cannot stop there.

How can we believe that no one saw, knew, or spoke up, even to provide a simple hint? Isn’t there a Pinocchio hiding somewhere?
