The International Monetary Fund (IMF) raised its forecast for French growth in 2021 to “around 6.75%” on Tuesday, praising a “strong rebound in consumption and investment” during the second and third quarters.
The French economy recorded one of its best growth rates in half a century in the third quarter, at 3%, allowing it to return to pre-crisis levels despite global shortages that have slowed industry.
The Bank of France announced on Monday that French growth could be “around 6.75%” this year, considering its forecast of 0.75% for the fourth quarter.
The eurozone is approaching its pre-crisis level without having surpassed it for the time being.
