A group of around sixty middle school students from four schools in Nice (Jules Romain, Frédéric Mistral, Victor Duruy, and Louis Nucéra) had the opportunity to complete their 9th-grade internship from January to May of last year within municipal services of the city of Nice and the services of the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis.
The student interns were rewarded for their work and received an internship certificate that will be useful for their educational path.
The objectives of this initiative were to allow young adolescents to better understand their city; to develop a sense of civic responsibility in them, to introduce them to different professions; to help them better understand the challenges of work and the values it embodies.
During their internship week, the students were welcomed and supervised by agents from the municipal police, the diocesan commissions, social action, sports, green spaces, housing and urban dynamics, animation and recreation, and Phoenix Park.
The young interns were thus able to learn about the employment opportunities that could be offered by local authorities.
