The Commission of Inquiry responsible for the public investigation on “improving travel from the right bank of the Var: La Baronne half-interchange” gave an unfavorable opinion.
The Metropolis announced that it had taken note of the Commission’s unfavorable opinion “with surprise,” as this long-standing project has been developed over more than 12 years with all stakeholders involved in the development of the La Baronne sector (Metropolis, Var Plain Public Development Establishment, Departmental Council, Maralpin Flood, Planning and Water Management Joint Syndicate, Communes of La Gaude and St Laurent du Var), and was presented in public consultation in 2014.
The Nice Cรดte d’Azur Metropolis recalls that this project is essential to improve the accessibility of the right bank of the Var. In the coming months, as indicated in the statement, the Metropolitan Council will draw conclusions from this opinion by proposing a revised project for public inquiry.
This unfavorable opinion from the Commission delays the roadway infrastructure procedure but does not undermine the National Interest Market project at La Baronne, nor its service start date.
