The Iron Man 70.3 will be held this Sunday on the Promenade des Anglais. Nearly 3,000 professional and amateur athletes are expected. The distances to be covered for each discipline are: 1.9 kilometers of swimming, 90 kilometers of cycling, and 21.1 kilometers of running!
The Ironman 70.3 is a triathlon competition derived from the Ironman. The name “70.3” comes from the total distance of the race in miles, which is 113.1 km, representing half the distance of an Ironman. This competition is being organized for the first time in the capital of the French Riviera this Sunday. More than 3,000 participants are expected.
The athletes will set off from Plage du Centenaire, in the clear waters of the Mediterranean, to complete a 1.9 km course made up of two loops. The cycling course is a true gem, leading the athletes into the heart of the Nice hinterland through picturesque villages.
The cycling course will offer athletes breathtaking panoramic views. The running course, on the other hand, will be organized over two round trips along the legendary Promenade des Anglais. Each athlete will be able to count on the presence of many spectators who came to cheer them on throughout their event!
