The festival “Jazz sous les bigaradiers” will conclude its 2017 edition tonight at 9 PM at the Coupole in La Gaude with a gala evening featuring the trumpet of the Paolo Fresu Devil Quartet.
Not Jazz ร Nice, nor Jazz ร Juan, but close to the Cรดte d’Azur, a festival “exclusively of Jazz” celebrating its 21st edition. A sign of its popular success, it remains true to its formula that brings together international “stars” and the best of Azurean Jazz for the public and musicians, during ten days of concerts.
International stars, such as the Paolo Fresu Devil Quartet or the septet Heptatomic by Belgian pianist Eve Beuvens, alternated with the best “national” acts, like the Ryoko Nuruki Trio, and the most talented Azureans, including Franck Taschini, Compagnie So What, Nabis, Bright Moments, Chopin Jazz Project, Looking Up Quartet, the duo J.M. Fauchier/P. Singery, Umโa Zero Trio, Djalamichto Quartetโฆ
Evenings of “jazz and dining” or “jazz in club” were associated with numerous activities of this now-essential festival.
La Gaude is decidedly a land of events, and the festival “Jazz sous les Bigaradiers” remains one of those rare moments where one can still indulge in the pleasure of “living together.”
